How to Choose an Invisalign Provider.
Many patients assume that Invisalign is responsible for the final orthodontic result.  Not true! Your Dentist is the master designer of your smile, and not all Invisalign Providers are the same.  Here are some helpful tips on choosing an Invisalign Dentist:
  1. Ask how many cases your Dentist has done. Premier Providers have done at least 75 cases and taken many hours of post-graduate education. Premier Provider status must be earned and cannot be bought.

  2. Ask if your Provider has additional training in cosmetic dentistry.  Although Invisalign will leave you with straighter teeth, the shape, texture and color will not be changed. A trained cosmetic dentist can add those final finishing touches (often minor) to make your new Invisalign smile your best smile ever!

  3. Ask to read actual patient testimonials or talk to some of the Provider’s Invisalign patients.  Find out what others who have had Invisalign treatment by the Provider are saying.

  4. Ask to view before and after photos of actual patient results. This will give you an idea of what you can expect from your chosen Invisalign Dentist.

  5. Ask what is included in your Invisalign treatment package.  Are retainers included?  Is teeth whitening included?  Are there any hidden fees?  Make sure you know what you’re getting.

  6. Ask if your Dentist will monitor your treatment.  Some Dentists dispense aligners all at once and wish you “good luck”.  Progress appointments (usually every 6 to 8 weeks are essential for a successful result.

  7. Can your Invisalign Dentist treat other problems that might arise? (For patients without a regular dentist). For example, if you break a tooth or develop a cavity, can your Invisalign Dentist handle these problems, saving you valuable time and visits to another dentist?

  8. Ask if your Invisalign Dentist has special TMJ training.  The TMJ (jaw joint) can be affected by orthodontic treatment.  Your Invisalign Dentist should have expertise in evaluating TMJ health.

  9. Your time is valuable! Ask about the office’s appointment policy.  Is your visit reserved exclusively for you, or are multiple patients scheduled at the same time, causing potentially long waits?

  10. Ask if your Invisalign Provider has experience in traditional orthodontics (metal wires and brackets). Invisalign may not be the only or best solution for all orthodontic cases.  Your Invisalign Provider should have the knowledge and expertise to handle more complex cases.
